As a critical scholar, I want my research to have tangible impact. It is one reason why I actively engage with non-academic audiences.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-24-md-font-size has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\">I lecture at the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology at Leiden University. I am a Honorary Research Associate at the University of Oxford&#8217;s School of Geography and the Environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-24-md-font-size has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\">My research interests are broad, and sit at the intersection of political economy, political ecology, and political geography. I am currently leading two research projects, both revolving around lived geopolitics in rural Central Asia.
